ABOUT | MY PHILOSOPHY:

Hi everybody! I'm Dana Nolan, a 22 year old, born and raised Chicago city girl.  Growing up in a huge Italian family, I loves anything to do with noise, excitement, and being surrounded by the people I loves most, while looking my best.  As a little girl, I always knew that fashion was my passion because of my love for shopping,  but as I grew older, I started to realize that this could actually become a career.  I started my fashion career path by attending Dominican University and receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Merchandising with a minor in Business.  Throughout my college years, I had worked in numerous aspects of the fashion industry.  I worked in retail for a while, styling customers whenever they needed assistance, but my favorite career was with Zzazz Productions.  Zzazz is a fashion show company that produces fashion shows all over the Chicago-land area.  With Zzazz, I learned a lot about styling.  I was able to pull outfits for a couple shows, work with models and even assist on a few photo shoots.  Zazz is really where I found my passion.  I would love to start my styling career by styling for personal clients and fashion shows, then work my way into advertisement or even editorial shoots.  I love combining my creativity with my personal experience and knowledge from school to create an overall amazing experience for anyone I come in contact with.  When styling, I like to combine a look that encompasses boldclassic and edgy outfit components to bring the clothes to life.  I want to make my clients feel comfortable, but also be able to introduce them to new styles.  Every outfit can have a variety of classic or bold colors, silhouettes, necklines, hemlines, accessories and makeup, but it will be combined with an edge.   Another part of my styling philosophy includes pricing strategy.  I like to call my style of pricing "high-low".  I learned that term from one of my previous employers and I fell in love with it.  We made our outfits a combination of high and low end pieces to make our looks complete, unique and reasonably priced.  For instance, we made sure that one or two key, noticeable pieces, were from the "high-end", where something like a staple top, blazer or denim were more "low-end".  Make your boldest pieces be "high-end" and they will definitely make a statement.  Also, I'm big on accessorizing.  Literally, anyone can wear the same outfit countless times, but it can look different each time by changing the jewelry, shoes, makeup or even a handbag.  These are all things I like to keep in mind while styling myself, a client or a photo shoot.
